Dale’s Turning 60! Reflections On The Past 40 Years Of Ministry (w/ Dale & Caralee) – Episode 134

Our fearless leader is turning 60! First, from all of the team at 95Network, we want to wish him a very happy birthday. We’re so thankful for his leadership, his vulnerability, and his encouragement every day.

As Dale welcomes a brand new decade in his life, he’s spending some time today reflecting on his experiences in the past four decades of ministry. He and Caralee discuss the highs and the lows of his life, what Jesus has taught him about relinquishing control, and how Grace is the greatest gift for people who are constantly striving to “fix” everything. There’s so much wisdom in this episode—enjoy!

Key Takeaways

1) As Dabo Swinney says, “There’s nothing less important than the score at halftime.” After 40, many of us pivot from pursuing success to pursuing significance. Over the years, Dale has learned that living a meaningful life looks more like loving God, loving family, and obeying what He’s called us to do.

2) Jesus came to give us life. We can let our strivings cease and start living freely by knowing that we don’t have to adhere to a particular set of rules just to measure up. Jesus loves you because He loves you. He doesn’t love you because of what you’ve done, who you are, or how you perform.

3) God doesn’t need our help. God can accomplish whatever He wants, and He certainly doesn’t need us to do that. However, He wants a relationship with us. Let Him pursue you!
