Dale had the opportunity to catch up with Pastor Michael Rubino on this week’s 95Podcast. In addition to serving as the Lead Pastor of Cornerstone Bible Church on Long Island, NY, Michael also leads the Church Revitalization Center. Michael is a powerful resource of ministry “staying power” who has endured many ups and downs of serving in the local church.
You will love listening to this “life-long New Yorker” talk about the challenges he has faced trying to reach almost 4 million people with the Gospel on Long Island. Michael’s honest evaluation of his ministry setbacks and difficulties provides hope for any pastor struggling to find ministry balance in their busy lives today.

1) Michael had to come to grips with his ministry calling even though other “seasoned” ministers referred to the northeast as a “ministry graveyard.” He reasons that Jesus can resurrect dead things, so this must be where He’s calling me.
2) Michael’s wife, Heather, had a “come to Jesus” meeting with him, letting him know that she no longer wanted to be the “other woman” to his first love, “the church.” That was a turning point in his life and ministry as he developed healthy boundaries between his ministry and his family.
3) There are four areas that Michael helps you evaluate as a ministry: 1 – The Leader, 2 – The Congregation, 3 – The Community, and 4 – The Mission/Vision of the church.
4) Michael’s love of the local church comes from this philosophy: “Jesus SAVED me. But He used the local church to SHAPE me.” What He did through His Bride, the local church, changed my whole life!
