Why Is It Always My Fault? (w/ Bob Hamp) – Episode 285

Why Is It Always My Fault? (w/ Bob Hamp) – Episode 285

Dale had the privilege of talking with Bob Hamp again today, discussing a common theme that he has noticed affects many ministry leaders. Negative circumstances or broken relationships often cause leaders to wonder, “What did I do wrong?” that led to the problem. For so many, this type of thinking is a natural default that has been developed over years of relational interaction.

Bob helps us understand the impact of our family origins, which often leads us to react in this way. Hopefully, today’s conversation will help many of us to begin down a pathway of experiencing complete freedom in Jesus.

Key Takeaways

1) Everything we struggle with is something God created and Satan hijacked. There is an intended function and a negative function when things go wrong.

2) Fear is the ability to attribute power to something.

3) The root of “I think it’s my fault” is thinking I’m responsible for things that are not my responsibility.

4) We try to produce spiritual outcomes with material sources. Knowledge and willpower actually work against the way God designed us to be transformed.
